Note: this review for delivery only. It's ok. In our quest for best pizza delivery it falls smack in the middle. Delivery was fast and professional. No thrills plain packaging - I really do not mind that. Pizza itself is good. Nice taste with good balance of sauce, cheese & garlic. Pretty good crust too! What was unacceptable in this order was calamari. It was completely burned. Breading was rather heavy too, and it was burned to dark brown. That should not left the shop. But Bene's still scores good marks for pizza itself, and for great $ value. Just fix the calamari!!! I would give them second chance if they do that, no doubt.
The owner's son records people using the toilet on his phone. Many people. Do not go to this pizzeria. They should be put out of business.
So this was the 4th of July right across the street from prospect park. We were a group of 6 with kids and stroller and this place was perfect. Hungry and wanting to enjoy some shade, we went inside to an empty place (love the privacy) with very comfortable seating. We ordered a pie, some garlic knots with dipping sauce and drinks (couldn't even take a picture due to how quickly it was devoured). the workers were very kind and brought all our food to us. Nothing like a true NY pizza in the heart of Brooklyn. I'm definitely keeping this spot in my register. For around $25 my family was well fed and ready to enjoy the trip to the park with all that energy we consumed.
Ordered and was charged. It was never delivered and there was no communication. Will not be reordering and strongly recommend avoiding.
The pizza here is ok, I find it to be a bit bland. But the people are very friendly and and the pizza is very quick.
Great pizza shop! The staff is very nice and the food is good. I've taken my little cousins here after playing in the park and the courtesy given to us was great. Whenever I'm in the area this is my go to pizzeria!
Sup Readers... Just tried to order some food from this lil pizza spot and they were rude to me. Didn't have anything I asked for. Finally asked if they have pasta and the reply was yes but "Wat u want?" Rude. As I started to speak she said you're to far... I'm 1.9 miles away. My neighbor ordered from them. #smh #shameonyourestaurant Customer service is very important!
This place deserves no stars. The manager was inhumanly rude to me when I called simply to ask what the minimum order was on Seamless (I called because we had had trouble with the previous order). He wouldn't give me a straight answer, then was horrible to me, and then when my kids completed the order online (it was for their dinner, i was working late), he canceled it out of spite. So they waited for an hour for food that was not coming. I can't remember when I've been so badly treated by a business. Screw this place, I'm never going back.
We ordered the Vodka Grandma Sicilian and I seriously thought the delivery guy gave us the wrong order when I opened the box. It looked like a regular Sicilian pie with some pesto. Why is there pesto on a vodka pie. Please, for the love of pizza, do not call a regular pie with pesto a vodka pie. If you don't know what a vodka pie is, go over the Verrazano and ask for the recipe. No self-respecting pizzeria should call this a vodka pie. Either learn how to make one or rename it properly.
Quality has gone down hill. I don't know how else to explain it, but my 3 orders tonight - penne vodka, meatball hero and chicken & fries - all looked ...old. Tasted the same.
Omg this place is gross, watched a cook wipe the floor with the cloth he was cooking with then picked up a customers pizza order with it. Health dept look out! This place needs to seriously close
the workers here are horrible, came in with my coupon ans he wouldnt accept it just because. no reason just told me no then gave a smart remark when i asked for a receipt never going here againnnnn you just lost a customer of ten plus years
The delivery guy from this place illegally drives his electric bike up the sidewalk every night. Tonight he almost hit me. No apologies, just whizzed away. Whoever owns this place and allows this behavior is going to get sued someday. And he'll deserve it.
My sons and I always go to Bene whenever we are at Vanderbilt Playground across the street. The pizza is always tasty and fresh, and the staff are friendly. I'd never ordered delivery because I figured we were out of their delivery area. However, this past Saturday we were having a birthday party, and I decided to give Bene a call. I asked the guy if there were any way they could rush the four pizzas since I'd ordered late. The guy said, "I'll put them in the oven right now!" The pies arrived 35 minutes later, and everyone mentioned how good they were. This is not high-end fancy pizza. It's good, simple, tasty pizza.
This place is good. It's not the best/most amazing pizza place in Brooklyn, but it's consistently good. The guys behind the counter are nice and fast. The restaurant is clean and from I can see behind the counter, the kitchen is very clean too. Here's a great example of why they're better than most: My wife and I stopped in for takeout dinner tonight. They just had a big order come in so we had to wait a little longer than usual. They gave us a couple of cookies while we waited and apologized. That's more than most restaurants do, let alone a small pizza shop in the middle of nowhere Brooklyn.
The penne ala vodka sauce is the best around! Whether I go in to eat or get delivery it is always made to order and delicious! Comes with a decent amount of Italian bread and enough pasta for two meals. I can't say the same about the meatballs I tried today though....not fresh and under the mounds of mozz cheese they were burnt. Wouldn't order those again. I ordered my food at 2:20 pm with an estimated delivery of 60 minutes and I received my food at 2:50pm!
I don't know what was worst; the pie or the service. I placed an order on grubhub for 2 pies. The Delivery man Called me 3 times and I didn't notice; then he rang the bell. I buzzed him him but he rang again. I then asked; "who is it." He yelled and woke up my 1 year old daughter because that how loud he yelled. All I heard was; "you better come down if you want your pizza." I flew down the stairs because I didn't understand how a delivery man could be so rude. I got down there and he decided to tear into me verbal. I told him to go talk to his mother with that mouth. Later on I received a call from who I guess was the owner; claiming not to take sides. He asked me; "was there a problem coming down to get the food." I told him; yes but I didn't have a problem with it. I then told him how rude his delivery man was when I got my food. He didn't seem to care. I order food because of convenience not because I'm lazy. I sometimes have all three kids with me alone and it's just easy to order food. If I had to just worry bout myself I would just order food or go pick it up. I don't want to come downstairs to pick up my food. I can't really. That means I have to take 2 out of the 3 ( one is 10 years old) kids down with me. Carry one of them and the food? So no; I don't want to come down nor do I need someone calling me and asking me; "if I have a problem?" Notice I have not even talked about the pizza yet. It sucked. I go to a restaurant on Flatbush ave called C&J; they are rude but I got back. The food is just that good. Will I order from Bene again? No; bad service and bad food. I'm good!
Best pizza in town . I've never taste a pizza better then Bene,s so far is the best pizza in Brooklyn
The Heroes are good, slices are good. I haven't had a bad experience yet. This is my go to place near me for pizza. I like it a lot.
Stopped by after a long walk at Prospect Park. Ordered a chicken parm hero and cheese steak hero. Mozzarella and bread was very tasty. Easy going staff made for a nice lunch stop!
